AFSS (Annual fire safety statement)
Annual Fire Safety Statements (AFSS) are required to be issued each year for all buildings in New South Wales. The statement must include all essential fire safety measures that apply to the building and must be completed by an accredited practitioner.
The inspection must confirm that the exit systems in the building are in compliance with the regulation, and the AFSS must be submitted within 12 months from the date the previous statement was submitted.
Fines may apply for late submission. Annual Fire Safety Statements play an important role in ensuring the safety of all buildings and occupants.
